Weather and daylight – Good to Know

Weather forecast

The weather in Iceland can change rapidly and, therefore, it is very important to check the weather forecast before and while travelling. Strong wind/wind gusts can be particularly dangerous.

On vedur.is you can find weather forecasts from the Icelandic Meteorological Office.

When checking the weather forecast, travellers should specifically check the forecast for wind, temperature and precipitation rather than relying on the station forecasts, since the latter are often inaccurate.
