Weather forecast
The weather in Iceland is known for changing rapidly making, it very important to check the weather forecast before and while travelling. Weather conditions related to storms with wind/wind gusts can be particularly hazardous.
On vedur.is you can find up to date information and current weather forecasts from the Icelandic Meteorological Office.
When checking the weather forecast, travellers should specifically check the forecast for wind, temperature and precipitation rather than relying on the station forecasts, since the latter are often inaccurate.
